Cable & Wireless Seychelles launches cable SMS with free use for one month

Cable & Wireless Seychelles Ltd, the leading telecommunications company in the Seychelles announced today that as from tomorrow all of its mobile customers (both post paid and pre paid) will be able to enjoy the benefits of the Short Message Service (SMS). SMS is one of the most popular value added mobile service world-wide. Cable & Wireless is the only operator offering this service to both post paid and pre paid customers in the Seychelles.

With effect from Saturday 28th September 2002, Cable & Wireless Seychelles will be launching the service with a special promotion until Thursday 31st October 2002.

Backed by the slogan "simply more fun," customers using this feature can send and receive short 160 character messages for free during this period using their mobile phone. This will allow them to keep in touch with their office, friends and relatives who also have the feature without saying a word.

SMS is fun, convenient and discreet for those occasions when a phone call might not be appropriate or desirable, or when mobile customers do not want to be overheard, during a meeting, at the cinema or maybe in a restaurant.

"This is all part of our strategy to offer real value for money in the form of quality services to our customers." Said Geoff Houston Chief Executive Officer.

The company will be launching SMS tariffs in November 2002. Another press release will be distributed with all relevant information nearer the time.

The SMS service has already been activated to all Cable & Wireless mobile customers. So, WHAT R U W8ING 4?
