CWS cuts local fixed-line calls by 20% - NEW OFF-PEAK RATE FROM 1 JULY

Cable & Wireless Seychelles has taken a significant step enabling customers to enjoy more affordable rates. It announced that a NEW OFF-PEAK RATE is now on offer to all residential and business fixed-line customers.

The new rate of 70 cents per 3 minutes (inclusive of GST) was introduced on the 1st of July 2005 and represents a 20% reduction on the previous flat rate for local fixed-line calls.

As from July the 1st, all customers making local fixed-line to fixed-line calls between 8pm and 7am weekdays, all day Saturday, Sundays and on Public Holidays will benefit from the new off-peak rate. This includes CWS fixed-line calls to Airtel fixed-line numbers as well as calls made from CWS payphones to fixed-line numbers.

Speaking on behalf of Cable & Wireless, Mr. Usman Saadat, CEO, said: “Cable & Wireless is delighted to be the FIRST to market off-peak fixed line localcalls in the Seychelles. In particular, our residential customers will reap the benefits of this change. The continuous support of this customer segment shows our ongoing commitment to the Seychellois people! ”

Recently, the company also offered its mobile customers extra value when it fixed its SMS rate at 45 cents per message making it the lowest rate for SMS in the country.
