Cable and Wireless Seychelles (CWS), one of the leading telecommunications providers in Seychelles, proudly announced its commitment to the upcoming Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l'Océan Indien (CJSOI) or Commission for Youth and Sports of the Indian Ocean games to be held in Seychelles from August 1 – 10, 2025.
CWS Director Project & Programmes, Annabelle Pillay accompanied by, CWS Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Daphne Raoul and CWS representative met the CEO of SNC Marc Arissol and the members of CJSOI Local Organising Committee (LOC) to officially sign the ceremonial Letter of Understanding between CJSOI and CWS, marking our sponsorship of SCR 1.2 million in connectivity and reaffirming CWS as the official telecommunications partner of the Games.
As part of its substantive sponsorship, CWS will be providing full internet infrastructure, equipment and 24/7 technical support for the CJSOI’s main venues and 6 podiums, on which the best athletes will receive their medals, costing the company SCR 60,000. This sponsorship is directly aligned with our commitment to supporting youth empowerment and national development, both through technology and initiatives that bring the community closer together.
During the handover ceremony held at the Moloko restaurant on Wednesday afternoon, CWS Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Daphne Raoul said "We are delighted to contribute to this prestigious regional sporting event for the advancement of our youths by keeping communication lines open for all those taking part in the games. It is our hope that the communication facilities we have made available will equip the athletes and empower them to keep abreast with not only news from their home countries, but also establish lasting connections with colleagues they meet in Seychelles.”
This edition of the CJSOI games is bringing together 1,142 participants from 7 countries, who will be competing in 11 sporting disciplines. Ms. Raoul also added that the CJSOI games represent a significant investment in the development of healthier youths and support them in their advancement in their chosen sporting fields.
