How fast is 5G?

Is it really as fast as everyone claims? Well, according to the experts the answer is: yes! Not only is 5G optimized for high-levels of network traffic, offering a no-buffering experience and seamless connectivity, but in its simplest form: it is also up to 100 times faster than what you can achieve with 4G!
With that in mind, we strongly advise you to think twice about doing a speed test with a 5G connection! If the traffic is minimal, our 5G download speed goes up to 1.2 Gbps, with an upload speed of even 75 Mbps! That’s dangerously fast, and miles ahead of existing connections in Seychelles.
So, what makes 5G this fast?
According to the science behind it, (we’ll spare you the nitty-gritty details), a shorter frequency = larger bandwidth to share among connections. More bandwidth also means more data to share with other users, meaning that a 5G network is not only faster, but it is able to handle the traffic that we (the consumers) use.
Despite the potential of downloading 1.2 GB per second, it is unlikely that this will happen when you’re just browsing the internet or checking your social media, remember that you can always monitor your data usage on your MyCare account and in your mobile settings!
PS: For you daredevils, here’s a link to a trusty speed test to try out for yourself. You’ve been warned, it’s super-fast!
